Our Mission Statement

To promote the development of wisdom in human clients, be they individuals, families or existing groups, through the intentional (and often playful) use of horses in a personal development / therapeutic setting.

Our company creates wisdom for humans through the use of horses. Our dynamic team consists of a Chartered Psychologist, an Equine Specialist, horses and even mules. Using our uniquely designed activities with horses and mules, referred to as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy/Learning (EAP/L), our clientele come to understand better what gets in the way of productivity, effectiveness and satisfaction in their day to day lives, relationships and workplace.
     So often we grow stale and conventional in our thinking. We keep forcing our own favorite solutions, even when they are no longer working. When frustrated we become critical of others, more rigid in our approach, narrow in our perspective – discouraged.

So, come away for a while. Try approaching challenges in a new way with our horses and trained professional leaders. We provide Therapy, Team Building Workshops and Personal Growth Workshops.

 
 
Our horses will respond to you immediately! But they do not do what is wanted of them when they are exposed to negative emotional energy, unclear communication, and disorganized team efforts. Because they are animals that are preyed upon by other species, they are uniquely sensitive to the emotional climate around them. Because they are social animals, safest in their herd, they communicate effectively through the use of their bodies. Sensitive, communicating… they are naturals to help us to learn about ourselves and each other.

Our activities are punctuated with the grace and beauty of horses, a warm horsy breath on the back of your neck, and a sudden awareness that the ways you have been doing things has blocked the outcome you have wanted rather than facilitate it. You will have lots of hands-on contact with the horses and mules, will learn by doing and will remember with the magical images of success and connection to our magnificent equines.

Why Horses?

The horse brings to mind an image of power and spirit. Imagine the beauty of a herd of horses galloping through a meadow, functioning as one unit, each one is an individual and yet, the herd works as a group.

The horse, as an animal of prey, has relied on this structure in order to survive through the centuries. Horses communicate without words, using mostly body language to convey their messages. A horse must remain aware at all times and it is indeed this awareness that determines which ones in the herd are the leaders and which ones are the followers. The roles of leader and follower are as essential in the herd structure as they are in a family or a business.

 
Horses and other equines, such as mules or donkeys are powerful teachers by example. They provide immediate, non-biased feedback when they interact with other equines or with human beings. The simplicity of equine interaction can assist to uncomplicate human reaction simply by example. Equines tend to be concerned with only their basic needs such as safety, comfort, food and water. Equine wisdom can greatly enhance human awareness.
