Meet Terry Wilton (psychologist)
"Human Wisdom Gained Through Horseplay"

Terry Wilton is a Chartered Psychologist based in Camrose.

Terry has over 25 years of experience in providing counselling and mental health services. Twelve of these years were in provincially funded mental health programs and since 1989 he has operated a private practice as a psychologist in Camrose.

Terry enjoys working with clients of all ages. He has a special interest in teens, particularly teens for who like to be different than what society expects. In addition to his certification in the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, Terry has extended his skills as a psychotherapist in other forms of treatment as well. He is trained to international standards as a marriage and family therapist (AAMFT). Terry is also trained in the use clinical hypnosis and the use of EMDR, a specialized treatment to assist in the recovery from severe emotional trauma.

Terry was named Mental Health Therapist of the Year for 1997 in Central Alberta by the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Over the last ten years Terry has written a regular column on psychotherapy in the publication sent to all members of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. Terry has also served as a volunteer for the last five years with the College of Alberta Psychologists helping to define professional and ethical practice for psychologists in the province. Over the years Terry has been an active volunteer in his community with his church and also as a soccer coach.

In his free time you are likely to see him with his golden retriever, Bishop, on rollerblades or climbing mountains in the Rockies (just the easy ones!). He loves jazz music and often takes his place behind his digital piano or drum kit to relax and unwind.
